HUMAN MASSAGE THERAPY:
Massage is a general term for pressing, rubbing and manipulating your skin, muscles, tendons, ligaments and fascia. Massage my range from light to strong to deep pressure. There are many different types of massage, including these common ones:
- Swedish Massage: this is a gentle form of massage that uses long strokes, kneading, deep circular movements, vibration and tapping to help relax and energize you.
- Deep Tissue Massage: this massage technique uses slower, more forceful strokes to target the deeper layers of muscle and connective tissues, commonly to help with muscle damage from injuries.
- Sports Massage: this is similar to Swedish massage, but it is geared toward people involved in sports activities to help prevent and treat injuries.
- Trigger Point Massage: this massage focuses on areas of tight muscle fibers that can form in your muscles after injuries or overuse.
In addition, we offer the following therapeutic modalities:
Mayofascial Release Therapy:
The John F. Barnes’ Myofascial Release Approach® is considered to be the ultimate therapy that is safe, gentle and consistently effective in producing results that last. Trauma, inflammatory responses, and/or surgical procedures create Myofascial restrictions that can produce tensile pressures of approximately 2,000 pounds per square inch on pain sensitive structures that do not show up in many of the standard tests. The medical approach is to drug patients so they temporarily are free from pain, but does nothing about the pressure that is causing the pain. Traditional physical, occupational and massage therapy treats the symptoms caused by the pressure the root cause of the problem. This is why so many patients only have temporary results never seeming to get better with traditional therapy. Only Myofascial Release treats the entire Myofascial mind/body complex eliminating the pressure of the restricted Myofascial system that causes the symptoms. Myofascial Release will safely and gently release the entire Myofascial complex for lasting and comprehensive results and authentic healing. Our goal is to help you return to a pain free active life style.
Cupping Therapy:
Cupping Therapy is an ancient form of alternative medicine that dates back to ancient Egyptian, Chinese and Middle Eastern Cultures. One of the oldest medical textbooks in the in world, the Ebers Papyrus, describes how the ancient Egyptians used cupping therapy in 1,500 B.C. A therapeutic massage is complimented with Cupping Therapy where the therapist puts special cups on your skin for a several minutes to create suction. The benefits of Cupping Therapy include local pain relief and muscle relaxation. Cupping improves overall health by removing the energy blockages that the therapists identify as barriers to the flow of healthy energy or qi. For athletes, cupping may help increase blood flow to a particular muscle region or help reduce pain.
Hawks Grip:
Hawks Grip Therapy is an Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM) that is an advanced form of myofascial mobilization; similar to deep-tissue massage. The treatment is non-invasive and utilizes specially designed stainless steel instruments to detect and release scar tissue, adhesions, and fascial restrictions. It is becoming a popular treatment technique due to it’s ability to treat a multitude of conditions such as Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, Tendinitis/Tendinosis, Lower Back Pain, Joint Sprains, Muscle Strains, Plantar Fasciitis, Tennis Elbow, Runner’s Knee, Painful Scars, and Splints.
All Massages are customized.
